Fun week begins... NOW!
It's that special time again. Confirmation hearings for good ol' Alito begin today at 11:00 CT. You can watch them here or via C-SPAN. Today is just opening statement day, but it will set the tone for the rest of the week.The Democratic newswire, aka the Washington Post, says Dems are going to try and torch him over his abortion opinions. Duh. Just like the Roberts hearings, a woman's right to murder her unborn child will be a rally point for the naysayers. But then again, also as in the case of the Roberts hearings, the fact will be made manifest that Bush has nominated a man who is both highly competent and highly qualified [MUST READ]. He should emerge from this week's smear campaign unscathed, and but a step away from the SCOTUS bench.

I've read some comments regarding whether or not Alito should be confirms to the USSC. Proponderance of the commments appear to indicate that the "I" have it. One comment indicated that Alito is to much on one side of the fence; therefore, inconsistant in is rulings. Does being on the fence promote consistancy?
Props for busting out with preponderance. Being on the fence promotes a sore asshole.

I think Jabba the Hutt (aka Teddy Kennedy) should shut the fuck up and let people who actually read Alito's decisions comment on them. I think he needs to fire his staffers.
