what the hell was that? It looked like a demonic version of star trek.
The most succint summary of many a philosophy I've ever seen recited by two Bob Dole impersonators.

I'll wait and let Tito tell you whihch movie that's from. It's most definitely a classic.
Sorry for the delay...The last Starfighter from 1984. Starring Lance Guest (from Jaws The Revenge fame) as a trailer park young man who hides from the fact that his family has no money for college and his life is a dead end by playing a video game. But wait, its not just any video game, its a game that aliens have set up to see if any humans are good enough to battle the evil empire of Xur and the Kodan Armada.
Well after betrayal from a spy the good guys are all wiped out leaving a reluctant Alex Rogan to take on the who galaxy by himself. His sidekick or Goose character is an alien called Grig who adds some much needed levity to the life and death situation.
Sporting excellent special effects and a true underdog story this movie has it all. One of the most underrated movies of all time. I was 5 when this came out and I can remember watching this movie like 5000 times, that and Enemy Mine and of course the never ending story.
Another great part...the alien who recruits our protagonist, has a flying car much like the Delorean from a future movie...But the best part, they fry a dude on a gigantic screen while the good guys watch, like a brain melting scan all to demonstrate (to the viewer) the pure evil of our antagonist Xur.
Truly an 80's great...highly recommend, add to your Netflix list. Kudos to Toon for adding this, made my morning.
